Big Break: Jen Oxley invites me to team up with her to create Emmy-winning PBS Kids show Peg + Cat and found 100 Chickens Productions! Favorite thing about 100 Chickens: The people. I can’t get over how great everybody is at what they do and how much heart they put into the work.
In Peg + Cat LIVE!: The Big Dog Problem, based on the popular episode, Peg’s mom asks Peg and Cat to mail some really important letters. But on their way, they come face-to-face with a REALLY BIG PROBLEM – a really big dog! They’ll need math – bar graphs, size comparison, position words, fair sharing, and a whole lot of counting, plus some help from one another and the audience to solve it! The vibrant full-scale production features larger-than-life puppets, light-up math facts that pop up all over the stage, and fan-favorite songs from the series, enhanced for the live stage experience!
Math is dull, difficult, and can only be done by certain people. NOT! Peg + Cat is a PBS Kids show that makes math accessible, musical, funny, and cool for kids. In each episode, best friends Peg and Cat find themselves in the middle of a comical crisis. By using math, problem solving skills, sense of humor, and a lot of love, they can always work things out. Airing across the United States and around the world, Peg + Cat has won Emmy Awards for Music, Design, Acting, Writing, Best Children’s Song, and Outstanding Animated Pre-K Show.
